SPONSORED CYCLE RIDE CELEBRATES LIFE, FUNDS A NEW DEFIBRILLATOR AND SUPPORTS BHF

Five years ago Fred Collin suffered a cardiac arrest and his life was saved by the swift actions of members of Bournville Harriers, a local running club. To celebrate an additional five years of life, Fred Collin & Jane Clarke, two members of Christ Church, Selly Park, Birmingham undertook a sponsored bike ride, taking in the canal system of the City of Birmingham. Fred said “The gift of life is worth celebrating and it’s a joy to be able to raise funds with the help of family and friends. Christ Church stands in a prominent position within the local community and the building is used by many groups throughout the week. We were delighted to raise enough to buy and install a defibrillator with easy access for the local community and make a donation of £750 to support the British Heart Foundation in its vision to free the world from the fear of heart and circulatory disease”.
