More Dogpool Lane Disruption

Soft landscaping work on the pavement areas around Pershore Junction (the new student building on Dogpool Lane) has started. It will involve work on the pavements from the 22nd of July and one way traffic on Dogpool Lane for two weeks in September. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via diversions around the works. We have been promised advanced notification of when the one way traffic will be introduced.

The work is on Council land and wasn't done during the building construction as it required authorisation from the Council, which was only recently received.

Full statement from the contractor from a letter delivered to some homes:

We would like to take this opportunity to notify you of the imminent works proposed to the external pavement area surrounding the new Student Residential building you will have seen at the junction of Pershore Road and Dogpool Lane.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you about these works and to give you an opportunity to contact us now or during the works if you have any questions or concerns.

The works are due to commence during week commencing 1st July albeit works to pavements will not commence until week commencing 22nd July. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via diversions of the existing pathway around the construction works which will be self-explanatory.

There will be a two week period where a one way traffic arrangement will be implemented along Dogpool Lane, no other implications on traffic arrangements are envisaged. The Works are anticipated to be completed by the end of September.

The scope of works comprises of replacement of tarmac surfacing to walkways, introduction of new planted areas, seating and bicycle stands to create a better urban environment. The existing bus stop and telephone box will remain.

During these works, we suggest you advise any children in your household to take care when near the site and do not venture onto the site at any time. The Contractor will do their best to make sure that the construction work causes the least possible disruption to you and the neighbourhood.

If you have any questions about the works, please Email the Contract Administrator at john.dunford@beadmans.co.uk who will come back to you as soon as possible
